1. How does
coaching actually work?
Think
of some
famous
atthletes....more than likely, they have a coach that is
now (or has
been) critical to their success! It can be beneficial to have an
objective person to guide an individual (or team) in achieving a goal.
The concept of coaching is not something new. For several years ,
however, busiess and career coaching has rapidly expanded as
a
profession and is utilized by individuals who want to improve
personally and/or professionally
2. What is the
role of a coach?
The
role of the Coach is greatly determined by the
individual needs of you, the client. You will design the way that you
work with us
during your initial session, to ensure that you create a partnership
that will
be effective in helping you make the improvements that you want.
Professional coaches
are like coaches in many other fields, except they don't have their own
agendas. They are there to help and support you.
3.
How
do I know if coaching can help me?
Coaching
is a change catalyst and a support mechanism
to help you see those changes through. If you keep doing what you have
always
done, you will keep getting what you have always gotten. If you want
something
different to happen, then you must do something different and a coach
will help
make that shift.
Ask
yourself, do you begin each day with an eager
enthusiasm for the day ahead? Do you have a clear plan of where you are
and
where you want to be one week, one month, one year from now? Are you
happy in
all areas of your life, career, relationships, personal growth,
lifestyle,
health, finance?
If
any of your answers was a
'no' or a tentative 'yes' then coaching can help.
4.
I am
already
doing great in my business/career. Why would I need a coach?
You
may not need a coach but working with a coach can
still help you take your life from great to outstanding: Are you doing
what you
most enjoy? Are you tolerating anything? Is life easy? Are you going to
be
financially independent within the next 5, 10, 15 years? Do you have
what you
most want? Are you happy? Are you settling for less? People often need
to
expect more out of their lives. Working with a coach can help you take
another
leap forward.
5.
Do you and
the client need to meet face-to-face?
Some
clients prefer to meet face-to-face, at least for
an initial session. This said, many clients never meet their coach and
coaching
is equally effective when conducted exclusively by telephone. For some
areas of
work, for example coaching on presentation and communication skills,
face-to-face coaching is required.
6.
Does
coaching
over the telephone really work?
Yes.
We are trained to hear what you are communicating
by words, pauses, tone, silences and even by what is not said.
Logistically a
telephone session with a coach can take place wherever you are.
This means that you are not limited by geography or business travel
requirements. Telephone coaching is very powerful and as a result,
sessions tend
to be shorter than face-to-face meetings.
7.
What's
your mission statement?
To
see my clients lead happier and more fulfilling lives, as they maximise
their professional and personal development
8.
How
frequently do the coaching sessions take
place and how long does each session last?
The
frequency of your coaching sessions will be agreed
between ourselves and will be based on your circumstances. Some clients
find it
valuable to speak every week and some every fortnight. The main factors
are
fitting in coaching around your current workload whilst keeping the
sessions
frequent enough to keep the momentum going.
9.
Is
coaching
confidential?
Yes,
the content of every coaching session is
completely confidential between the coach and the client. In the
context of
corporate/executive coaching a company may request a method of
reporting and
feedback, but this is agreed in advance, open and known by all parties.
All
personal details of the coaching still remain confidential, however,
three-way
evaluations can take place between the coachee, coach and a company
representative
where appropriate.
10.
Do you
have
to follow any Code of Practice?
Yes.
I follow
the European Mentoring and Coaching Council
Code of Practice (EMCC)
11.
Where do
you operate?
Our
office is
located in Wimbledon ,London. However
the majority of our face to face
sessions have taken place in Central London
in
various specific coaching rooms. We
are
however flexible and will
accommodate your
needs as
much as possible.
Telephone
coaching can be
conducted from anywhere, so coaching can even be done internationally
– taking
into account of course UK
working hours.
12. Do you tell me what to
do?
No,
we assume that you are
an expert in your particular field/business. We will ask you questions,
which in many
cases, can
be the ones that you have been avoiding! It is often through the
process
of
questioning and your joint discussion that ideas are generated and you
will
decide what really needs to be done to improve the situation.
13.
Are there any
guarantees?
Unfortunately
the honest
answer is No. Here’s why…
Titanium
Coaching is
designed to make you more successful and at the end of the day, only
you can
guarantee that you will do what it takes to make that happen.
If
we
presented you with the
best tennis coach in the world to work with, but you never practised
tennis
between the coaching sessions, you are unlikely to become a world-class
tennis
player. It is the same with business coaching… if
you
don’t complete the
tasks you commit to take, you won’t see the same levels of
success.
If
we
don’t meet your
expectations you are free to stop working with us at any
time…..the idea being you will
only
continue to use a coach if
you can see progress being made. This concept works well as it is then
a
mutually beneficial relationship.
14. What is my
financial
investment in coaching?
Charges
vary and are negotiable. However we at
Titanium Coaching are highly trained professionals.
Consequently
fees are similar to what you would expect to pay another professional
such as an architect, accountant or solicitor. That being said our fees
are competitive in relation to average business coaching rates. Contact
us to find out more
15.
What can
I
get from coaching which I can’t get from reading books,
manuals
looking on the
internet, etc.?
Coaching
is about asking questions, questions,
questions until the desired outcome is reached. You cannot do this with
a book
16. How
do you get started ?
If
coaching
sounds liek something you
could benefit from, simply contact us
and we will be happy to answer any
questions which you may have
17.
How can I
make a decision on whether coaching is right for me?
If
you are
still unsure about coaching contact us so
that we can answer any questions which
you may still have. You will then be able to make an informed decision
on which
steps to take
