| ORACLE
Model |
 |
|
| |
 |
|
Is
a tool designed to take you the coachee through the whole coaching
cycle. It is important to note that a coaching session(s) may not always
happen in the same linear process as ORACLE is below. In fact it is
sometimes an iterative
cycle. However it it is more than likely in the majority of coaching
sessions that all parts of the model will be touched upon |
|
| |
The
acronym is as follows :
O
= Outcome
What is the desired goal?
How well formed is it?
R
= Real
issue
Find and clarify the real issue/problem
A
=
Alternatives
What are the obvious solutions? Actions already taken
What other ideas are there?
C
=
Creative ideas
How to modify any existing ideas or to think of solutions never yet
tried,no matter how creative or unconventional
Key here is to generate alternatives/new options
L
=
Likelihood of success
Evaluate all options using a 1 - 10 scale
Reflect on consequences
E
=
Execute
What is the plan?
Who is involved?
Who will help?
How will they communicate?
These are only examples above. There are no specific questions which
have to be covered but it is more about the structure of the session.
From this structure (and your content) the sessions should flow
drivingyou towards your specific goals.
The ORACLE Model is very similar to the well publicised GROW Model.
Both models are very effective although ORACLE has
slightly
more emphasis on
generating new ideas.
